Unlike traditional fencing, heron protection is not primarily about fence height. Angled electric pond fencing works by disrupting the way herons naturally approach and hunt. Herons typically prefer to land nearby and carefully walk into shallow water to feed. The inward-angled wires create a protective overhang around the pond edge, preventing easy access and making landing and take-off feel unsafe.
The angled wire configuration interferes with the bird's natural movement and creates an environment that cautious herons instinctively avoid. If a heron does attempt to investigate the protected area, a brief and harmless electric pulse provides an effective deterrent, quickly encouraging the bird to seek easier feeding locations elsewhere.
This complete kit includes high-quality black angled pond posts, allowing the fence to blend naturally into the surroundings around ponds, lakes and waterways.
