The simple act of initially spooling tape, wire, or rope onto a reel can help extend its lifespan. If you have 200 m of tape but only need to use 100 m, leave the excess neatly stored on the reel. Attach the reel to a PR2 Reel Fixing Fence Post for a secure anchor point while keeping your fencing material protected and ready for future use.

What is a reel used for?

A reel is designed to wind and unwind electric fencing wire, rope, or tape. It is ideal for temporary fencing applications where fences need to be installed, removed, or moved regularly.

By keeping fencing material neatly stored, reels help prevent tangling, reduce wear, and make transporting and setting up temporary fences easier.

Geared reels

Geared reels are designed for longer fencing systems and allow wire to be wound up to three times faster than conventional reels. They are suitable for single-line fences and multi-strand fencing systems.

When using multiple reels, a Reel/Termination Post provides a secure mounting solution, allowing reels to be positioned above one another. An optional support bracket can be added for extra stability.

Multi-wire reels

Multi-wire reels are suitable for single-line fences as well as systems with up to five strands. Using a Reel/Termination Post helps keep multiple reels organised and securely mounted.

Tip: When using multiple reels, connect each line to ensure every strand remains powered.

Pre-installed reels

A geared reel with 500 m of pre-installed, ready-to-use polywire is available from Gallagher. It features a large handle with a knuckle guard and includes a Gallagher Insul-grip for convenient fence connection.
