Electric Fence Online Quick Electric Fence Kit for Ponds & Gardens

The "Quick Kit" is a really simple, but versatile electric fence kit that is ideal for occasional, seasonal and semi-permanent protection of a pond, garden area or vegetable plot.

The fence is powered by an easy to setup battery powered energiser that doesn't need anything more than a couple of D Cell batteries that you can pick up from your local store and yet it is powerful enough to give a good enough zap to deter most pets and unwanted visitors from the protected area. whether that's a newly planted area to stop it becoming the local cat loo, or a quick fence around a pond to keep herons out... The components can be quickly setup in a number of ways to create anything up to a 4 line electric fence system, which can for example be a complete circuit around a pond or flower bed, or a straight line to protect a new hedgerow.

When no longer required, the system is small enough to be very quickly taken down and stored away until needed again.

Each Quick Kit includes the following items:

  • 1 x Shrike Fence Energiser (47HLB100 + 47D-Cell-U)- (2 x D Cell Batteries Included)
  • 1 x 1m Earth Spike (47ES2)
  • 2 x 100m Rolls of Green Polywire (47P10-1G)
  • 2 x 10 Packs Plastic Rabbit/Garden Electric Fence Posts (47CP3)
  • 1 x 10 Pack of Polywire Connectors (47C94-10)
  • 2 x Pairs of In-Line Wire Tensioners (47T20-2)
  • 1 x Electric Fence Warning Sign (47P40)
  • 2 x Packs of 3 Screw-in Corner / End / Anchor Insulators (47KS15-3)
  • 2 x 2m lengths of Tube Insulator (47TI2) (In case you need to run your fence wire through some vegetation)
  • 2 x Hart Clip line connectors (47C75-2)
  • 1 x Fence Tester (47P70)

As with all of our electric fence systems, you do not have to create a complete loop or circuit for the fence to work. And the above components are enough for you to set up an 100m long, 2 line straight fence (with nothing at either end) or a complete 4 line enclosure 50m long... please note that if you're using this equipment to keep out rabbits, we suggest the posts are set leaning out at a 45 degree angle facing outwards towards the rabbits.

The wires don't need to be strained really tight, but do need to be pulled tight enough not to sag. Use the connectors for any joins (don't tie knots in the wire).

Example fence set-up

If there is a convenient wooden fence post, solid tree, wall (using raw plugs) etc. to create an anchor point. Screw the insulators in at the required heights and then push the plastic posts into the ground, ideally not more than 5m apart, and make up your fence line.

Now starting at one end, using a connector to secure the wire to an anchor point, run the wire through the posts to the opposite anchor point and use another connector to secure it. (If creating a complete loop, then you just run back to the original connector). Then cut the wire and repeat the process for the next fence line.

PLEASE NOTE: The fence lines MUST BE CLEAR of any encroaching vegetation i.e. the fence wire must not touch anything other than the posts or insulators provided... if there's a bush in the way of the ideal fence line, you can put the wires through the tube insulator to get past the obstacle, but make sure you don't leave an easy gap for the target animal to get past the fence.
