The Kyocera Solartec KS5 5 watt solar panel is an 'entry level' panel, but it still incorporates the high quality you would expect from such a renowned brand. The Solartec KS5 panel uses Kyocera's advanced cell processing technology and automated production facilities, producing a highly efficient multicrystal photovoltaic module.
To provide maximum protection from the elements, the solar cells are sealed between a tempered glass cover and an EVA pottant with a PVF back sheet. To make the unit strong, durable and easy to install, the laminate is fitted into an anodized aluminium frame.
The Solartec 5W solar panel is ideal for low power applications, such as garden lighting, water features, electric fence systems, etc. It may also be used for 'trickle charging' a 12V battery to maintain and extend its operating life.
This panel can be used to trickle charge batteries without a charge controller, but only with batteries over 30Ah capacity. For best performance, we recommend the use of a charge controller such as the Steca Solsum 6.6F.
