The 70W KD70 from Kyocera is the next step up from the KC50 solar panel and provides a little more power, giving you greater confidence in the low light conditions of the British autumn and winter.
Despite its compact size, the Kyocera KD70 maintains the high quality and high efficiency of its larger counterparts in the Kysocera range. To maintain the highest quality standards, the KD70 is manufactured using automated technology and features Kyocera's world renowned advanced cell technology. The KD70 solar panel is an extremelyefficient multicrystalline photovoltaic module with a solar cell conversion efficiency over 16%.
At 70 watts, the Kyocera KD70 is a great choice for a low-mid power solar energy installation, which can be used to operate a good range of electrical equipment such as radios, lighting, water features, pumps and even some lowe power 12V televisions.
In many cases, the KD70 is used in temporary systems (caravans, mobile homes, etc) so it needs to be able to withstand being moved around and the British climate. To do this, Kyocera solar cells are protected by toughened glass and an EVA potting compound and the rear is fitted with a robust back sheet for added environmental protection. The module is framed in anodized aluminum frame for high structural strength and ease of installation. The KD70 solar panel is supplied with easy-to-use screw-in electrical terminals.
To protect your batteries from overcharging we recommend incorporating a suitable high quality charge controller, such as the Solsum 8.8C to your system.
This solar panel is 'Power guaranteed' for 25 years.

Installation Basics: Kyocera solar panels are not supplied as standard with any mounting brackets or cables other than the industry standard connections for “national grid installations” with MC (metal cased) flying leads or 'screw-in' terminals. This is because even though solar panels are relatively simple to install, virtually every installation is a bespoke project with unique requirements. Most end user customers and installers prefer to source their own cables and brackets based on these specific requirements.
For connections to a battery, or battery-bank you will require “Twin Sheathed (Double Insulated) 2 Core Cable for the connections from your panel/s to the charge controller and then to the battery/ies. The cable must be rated to the required amperage for your installation and is available from any good local electrical/DIY retailer, or your installer.
Likewise, the means of securing your solar panel in position are as many and varied as the applications for which solar panels can be used. For boat, caravan, motor home user it can be as simple as using a professional strength adhesive such as Sikaflex (also available from any good Chandlery – but you will have to sell the solar panel with your boat etc. as it’s there to stay!). For walls, tiled roofs, sheds, poles etc you will need to buy/create different means of fixing.
Should you prefer for us to put together a basic “installation kit” that is based on the solar panel/s you order here, please provide the necessary information by Emailing us here with as much relevent information as possible including: Where you wish to mount the panel/s, distance to batteries, etc.
