The Steca Tarom 440 is the largest in the Tarom range for solar panel systems up to 2.4kW, working with a 48V battery bank. The Tarom 440 was designed specifically for use in telecommunications and hybrid solar energy systems which usually include a large array of photvoltaic solar panels and an AC/DC inverter.

Steca Tarom charge controllers are fitted with an RJ45 data connection and can be used with the Steca Solarix inverters as part of a complete system management system. The inverter(s) and charge controller are linked together via a PAx4 Parallel Switch and, when connected, they share system performance information to further increase the accuracy and sensitivity of the SOC, further enhancing overall performance.

The Steca Tarom charge controller incorporates a number of electronic advances which ensure that it is easy to use and, above all, efficient. Using Steca's patented state of charge (SOC) algorithms, the Tarom 440 constantly monitors real-time battery performance and maximises the charge state from the power available from the solar panel array. In addition to a range of electronic protection such as reverse polarity, overload, short and open circuits, the Steca Tarom automatically protects your batteries from a deep-discharge state. All of the alarm parameters can be programmed, but typically the deep-discharge protection should be set to 30%.
