The Elecsol EL105F AGM battery is the smallest, lightest and most portable of a range of AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries, which are amongst the most up-to-date and reliable 12V carbon fibre deep-cycle leisure batteries available. Suitable for use in temporary, semi-permanent and/or portable applications and particularly well suited to use within off grid renewable energy systems and marine applications. Due to the high cold crank (CCA) rating, the Elecsol AGM range can be used as a winch battery.
Elecsol AGM carbon fibre, deep-cycle batteries are the result of many years' research and offer the latest in battery technology, specifically designed for use in renewable energy systems and where long-term reliability is paramount. In particular, they complement the use of solar panels perfectly: since they can accept even a tiny amount of charging current, they maximise power output, even in the most overcast conditions.
One of the most amazing features of the new AGM carbon fibre batteries is that they contain NO LIQUID acid. The electrostatic acid is held in 'glass matts' so that the battery will never leak, even if it is physically broken. They are ideal for installations in harsh environments, such as on boats and yachts, where an acid spill can be extremely dangerous and costly.
In a standard battery, one of the main causes of failure is 'sulphuration' of the electrode plates. This is caused by constantly discharging the battery – exactly what happens in a renewable energy system. Elecsol AGM carbon fibre technology, however, means that the battery can be discharged deeper and more often, without ANY permanent damage to the plates.
