	Insert the battery, paying attention to polarity Make sure that the battery is place in the right position and close the battery cover. To turn on/off the i-read, press the ON/OFF button.

"Firmware - Bootloader"
The version of software and the bootloader appears on-screen for 5 seconds.

Initial screen personalised can be personalised with distributors logo.
In order to carry out the transponder reading, press the "Scan" key.
The two LEDs flash alternately and when the transponder is read, the buzzer emits a sound.

On Screen:

Category Animal / Not Animal plus a number indicating the memory position occupied by the code.
Type of transponder found (HDX / FDX-B)
Country
Code
Species
Retagging

If reading a transponder not used for animals, the screen will display “No Animal” in red along with the transponder number.

If MODE 13 has been selected, the screen will read “This is not an animal tag” and the transponder information will not be displayed.

While scanning in full power mode, if no transponder is read after 14 seconds the display will read “Tag not found”.
