Wooden Animal Housing
With over 10-years’ experience designing animal housing (and a lifetime as animal keepers), the skilled manufacturers of our wooden housing are confident that their houses are some of the best on the market. At present, we are offering a selection of chicken houses, poultry arks and rabbit hutches. To suit every budget, we have introduced two new ranges: ‘premium’ and ‘standard’.
The premium range is hand-made in the UK, using the best quality Scandninavian 5th grade Redwood, designed to last for many years. Unlike most other manufacturers, the wood is not pressure treated as this often causes the wood to shrink and bend as it dries. Instead, dried timber is treated with Cuprinol, producing a more stable, longer lasting animal house. The premium range uses either 34x34mm or 44x34mm framing, 15mm tongue and groove cladding and 15/18mm floor-boarding. Everything is then screwed or double nailed together to produce a solid, durable animal house that is both practical and decorative. To avoid high humidity and disease, all the houses are well-ventilated and the absence of felt-roofing significantly reduces red-mite infestation. To ensure that the animal houses are fully fox and badger proof, only heavy duty metal fitting and galvanized weld-mesh are used.
Our standard range, whilst designed in the UK, are produced in China. The materials used are a little lighter than the premium range, yet offer a high standard product at a cost-effective price. The framework is typically 30x15mm and the cladding 10mm. The standard range is delivered flat-packed for quick, straightforward assembly, with full instruction and all the necessary fixings. To maximize protection, we recommend that you apply a coat of Cuprinol to your newly assembled animal house.
Delivery of the premium range is typically 2-weeks, but may increase to to 4-weeks in spring. For the standard range of animal housing, please allow 3-5 days.

Due to the hand-made nature of the premium range, delivery is typically 2 weeks, although this may increase to 4 during the busy spring period. Premium animal houses are delivered as pre-assembled panels, which can be assembled on-site with only basic skills and tools. We recommend that your premium house is coated with Cuprinol after 9-12 months and then every 2-3 years thereafter. Delivery for the standard range is typically 3-5 days. When ordering a premium house, please be aware that (in addition to our standard terms and conditions) a 50% cancellation charge applies, since these wooden chicken houses and rabbit hutches are hand-built to order.
