Our new infrared animal heater is a compact, cost-effective way to provide animals with a safe source of heat throughout the forecasted harsh winter. Each year, many animals are adversely affected by cold weather, especially in countries such as the UK where they have no chance to acclimatise or the winter's are unpredictable and changing.
Early-lambing ewes are particularly at risk throughout January, as are sheep who have been shorn in late autumn or early winter. Equally problematic are mares who foal out of season and any animal needing a period of recuperation after illness or injury. Surprisingly, even chickens can be adversly affected by the cold weather and their laying ability can be significantly reduced if not provided with a suitable shelter and possibly a heat source. In addition to protecting outdoor-living animals and livestock, our new animal heater is also suitable for use in kennles, catteries and large reptile enclosures, as well as a great heater for stables and general outdoors applications (smoking areas, etc).
The animal heater is in an IP23 rated, rainproof housing, fitted with a wire mesh front and a choice of three heating elements. Whilst IP23 does not mean that you can spray down the heater during cleaning, rain will not damage it. The mesh front means that the heating element will last up to 5-times longer than with a glass front because air freely circulates around the elements and keeps them cooler; the average element lifetime in the animal heater is 5000 hours. The mesh front also means that 20% more heating energy is projected out of the heater, rather than simply being trapped inside.

Please be aware that if you decide to fit more than one heater to the same switch circuit, you should always use the service of a qualified electrician, especially if the total exceed 3000W (13 amps).
- 500W low glare: as the name suggests, the 500W low glare element provides a strong heat source, but with only a very low light, ideal for sensitive animals such as recuperating livestock or new foals, or all night heating.
- 750W heat & light: a good general purpose element which combines 250W extra heating, but without significantly increasing the amount of light, which is perfect for general pet and animal heating set-ups.
- 1000W gold: the strongest of the three heating elements is used for general outdoor heating, stables and larger animal enclosures.
All of the heating elements used in the animal heater are true 'short-wave infrared' which means that they heat the body rather than the air in between, making them significantly less power hungry they and waste far less energy than traditional heaters. Depending on your energy tariff, the 500W animal heater costs as little as 7p per hour to operate.
