The 11W UniSolar US11 Amorphous (also called 'Thin film') non-crystalline Panel is a particularly good choice of solar panel for applications where partial shading is unavoidable, such as on sailing boats, or perhaps in the garden.

The UniSolar is also an ideal choice of panel where there may be a greater than average risk of damage. This is because the solar panel is manufactured without glass and will withstand vibration, or attempts at vandalism more readily than many other types of solar panel - again, useful features if you need to use the panel in the field, on the water, or road.

Although amorphous panels are generally considered less efficient than crystalline panels (taking anything between 20% - 35% more space per watt than crystalline solar panels), they will generally produce power at lower light levels and in recent tests using the larger 64W UniSolar conducted over a full one year period, the Unisolar solar panel generated the equivalent power of a 75W crystalline solar panel.
