AWG size comparisons
Many companies will supply cable using AWG sizes (American
Wire Gauge - Refers to the strength of the wires). The table below indicates the closest AWG size equivalent to our European cross section sizes.
Please Note: The gauges most widely used and readily available are even number rated; where the above table gives an odd number rating, choose the next lower even number.
For example 15.0 mm2 is equivalent to AWG 5, but you would most likely need to buy AWG 4
