The Hotline P250/S Merlin is an economical and compact multi-purpose battery powered electric fence energiser.
The Merlin is ideal for strip grazing cattle, horse paddock fencing, 8-10 electrified sheep nets or for protecting pheasant pens.
The P250/S Merlin can use any voltage or rechargeable battery from 6v to 12v, although the unit is most efficient when working on a 12v leisure battery.
The amp/hr rating of the battery will determine the charging
interval; for example a 55amp/hr battery will require charging approximately every six weeks. If necessary a 6v or 9v can be used while the main battery is being recharged.
As the battery for the P250/S Merlin is placed outside the fencing energiser, ensure that all the leads are connected correctly to the battery, earth stake and fence line.
A single ground spike supports the fencer. This provides a suitable `earth' on short lengths of fencing wire but on longer runs over 300m an independent earthing stake should be used.
The LED will flash
GREEN
when the unit is working correctly, but will change to
RED
when the batter requires re-charging. A buzzer will sound if the battery terminals are connected incorrectly.
